Editor’s Note: We’re at week six in the Big Brother 15 house and a lot of people are beginning to form real opinions on the season and some are looking back on how right or wrong they were with their first impressions. Reality Radar invited readers to share their thoughts on this season and below you’ll find one.

I was firmly on board with them bringing in all newbies for Big Brother 15, and I still stand by that thought today. I think that bringing in vets was not all bad for the last two seasons, but the way it was executed was horrible. The partner twist in season 13 was probably the better of the two until they brought it back in Pandora’s Box. I hate production interference and feel that is 100 % what that was.
I thought season 14 could have been one of the best with those particular players coming back into the game but they should have been players from the beginning. I think both seasons 13 and 14 missed huge opportunities for great seasons by giving special treatment to the vets.
As for this this season, there’s one topic that is dominating all others. The racism/derogatory comments that have come out of some of these houseguest’s mouths have been unbelievably shocking. I am not naïve to the fact that there are people like this out there; I just cannot believe they are willing to be that forward with it while they know they are being filmed and watched by the public. I don’t want to spend too much time on this because in all honesty, I don’t believe these particular houseguests deserve our attention after the show is over. They each will have to deal with the fallout from their actions and I just hope they learn from it. The reason I do bring it up though is that these particular houseguests and their statements are what is making this season so hard to watch as well as root for anyone. Even the ones that are not making comments are aligned with the ones that are, because let’s face it they have to be, which in turn makes it difficult to root for them. That combined with the twist, which was a great idea in theory but executed poorly, have caused this season to take a turn for the worst.
The third nominee was a great idea in my opinion but it should never have been a person in the house. I think it should have always been America and the houseguests should have been made aware of that. They still wouldn’t have control over who it was but it would have brought the paranoia down a notch and not put targets unnecessarily on people’s backs that are actually playing a decent game.
Now as for the game play … I firmly believe the second half of this game will be great on the game play side. I think there are people playing this game who up until a week or so ago have been keeping low profiles and will come out fighting. Plus with all that has been going on this week in the house and with the double eviction Thursday, I think the feeds will be good.
Now as for who is playing the best game, I think Andy, Judd and Elissa are playing the best in that order. I am sure some of you are thinking I am crazy right now but hear me out. Andy as of this moment has no real threats in this game. He has successfully been floating back and forth while maintaining trust and great relationships with EVRERYONE in the house. As soon as there is a threat to his game he does damage control and SMART damage control. His downfall towards the end in my opinion will be winning competitions. He hasn’t seemed super strong in any comp so far and will have a hard time arguing his case at the end if he doesn’t get some wins under his belt.
Judd has gotten into some muddy waters lately (not all his doing) and this week will 100% determine Judd’s gaming ability. Up until this point he has maintained great relationships with people in the house, has kept emotion out of it; granted he has lost his temper at times but he has not made one game decision based off personal feelings. He is one of the only ones to see the danger of the guys being outnumbered by the girls and although people seem to be losing trust in him he has inadvertently been doing damage control with those people. I believe if he can survive this DE he has a real shot at this game.
Elissa has been a wild card for me most of this season but these last couple weeks she has shown she genuinely knows the game and was fully aware of people using her and has been sitting back collecting information waiting for her opportunity. Her relationships in the house are not has solid as Judd/Andy but I think she has a good game so far and is intuitive enough to make it through sticky situations.
As for the other houseguests I think Spencer, Mccrae and GinaMarie are the best people to drag to the final 2 right now. Spencer minus a veto has zero comps under his belt and his relationships with the rest are fair/poor. Mccrae seems like an odd choice I’m sure to some but he hasn’t won anything since week one and anyone sitting next to him can use the argument that Amanda has dragged him along. GM I don’t think I really need to explain this but in case some don’t understand her mouth will/has done so much damage and I think her final speech would be a complete hot mess. Again we are only at the halfway point so there is a lot of game left to play.
Amanda is a tossup for me. On one hand she has been pretty much controlling the house on the other hand she has made herself such a big target with her tactics that people will take her out at some point. I really thought they would take a shot at her this week and they may still but my gut tells me Candice will be out the door. If she wants any chance of making final 2 she needs to calm herself and listen to Mccrae when he tells her to shut up. However I believe that she has done too much damage and all it will take is Elissa/Helen winning an HOH or Judd catching wind of their distrust in him for her to walk out that door. She has not been strong at comps so I don’t even know if she could pull off a veto win.
Helen has too big of mouth and has shot herself in the foot with it one too many times. Unless she finds a way to actually get Amanda out this week I think it will be an uphill battle for her going forward seeing as she is on a lot of people’s hit list.
Jessie has potential after what I have seen with her this last week she has a great read when it comes to most of what is going on right now. Her biggest problem she doesn’t know how to execute her plans. She also gets super emotional which gets in the way. If Jessie can pull off this Amanda evictions she will jump up toward the top of the list, if she doesn’t she is going to have to win comps to stay.
Candice is intuitive but again not great at executing plans. However if Jessie/Helen/Elissa can pull this off she will be in a great spot and I will reconsider her but as of right now I think she is toast.
Aaryn. Well if not for her horrible comments she could actually be one to root for. Strictly game she is in a good spot. She has safety with Mccrae/Amanda/Judd/Andy. However she will be in a ton of trouble if Amanda goes and Candice stays. Right now I think she is playing a smart game and like Jessie a lot of her game will be determined by who goes home this week.
Double evictions are my favorite episodes and I think this Thursday will be an intense one!
About Jessica: I am a huge big brother fan and have been watching since season 4. I have seen all the seasons now but watched them live since 4 and have been a live feeder since 11. I would say my favorite players are probably similar to most of the BB fans out there. My top 5 would be Dan, Will, Janelle, Jun and Dick; not necessarily in that order but definitely some of the best to play the game. I am a firm believer that whoever can keep control of their emotions and not play personal will always play the game best.
